NFL 2015

It's been a while since I have posted so now my goal is to post at least once a week for all of you great readers who support my blog.

I am going to share my thoughts of the NFL season so far. First off is it just me or does it seem like this is the unlucky year for injuries (not only in the NFL but also college). In particular, quite a few quarterbacks have got the bad end of the stick.

Tony Romo, Drew Brees, Andrew Luck,  and Ben Roethlisberger are some of the star quarterbacks that have gone down.

It's so unfortunate for the Cowboys because at the start of the season Romo led the Cowboys to a 2-0 record but than he got injured and Brandon Weeden came in and he couldn't lead the team to any victories. After three games they decided to switch to Matt Cassel who hasn't performed any better and the team has lost 5 straight games. They desperately need Tony Romo back. In my opinion, if the Cowboys want any chance to go to the playoffs they have to win every game this season which will be very hard to do.

Drew Brees and the Saints have had a rough season. Fortunately for them they have been able to turn things around and now are at .500. Brees had a shoulder injury earlier on in the season and missed a game. The last three games Brees has led them to victory. His most recent victory against the Giants was his most dominant performance of the season and most of his best of his career of my opinion. He had over 500 yards passing with 7 touchdowns. No other QB has done that this season. I have had my mixed feelings over the Saints because of their Superbowl win against the Colts but I really do like them and wish them to continually to do well.

Andrew Luck and the Colts haven't been that good this season. Luck has been playing with a sore shoulder and on top of that he has been playing with fractured ribs. The Colts having been hiding it until recently. There's been a lot of talk if the Colts should be punished for this. We will wait and see what happens. They are 3-5 currently and the next two games are going to be tough. This next Sunday Peyton Manning comes back to Lucas Oil Stadium looking to stay undefeated. This isn't going to be the Colts year unfortunately. At the beginning of the season people were talking about them going to the Superbowl. I would be very surprised if they got there with how they are playing. I love the Colts so win or lose I will always stay true to the team. Wish them well with their upcoming games.

Ben Roethlisberger just came back from a knee injury. Unfortunately, he didn't get the big W against the Cinncinati Bengals who are one of the 4 NFL teams still undefeated. The Steelers have had their ups and downs this season. They just lost their running back Le'Veon Bell for the season with a torn MCL. DeAngelo Williams who played starter for the first few games because of Bell's suspension has a chance to come in and be great. I really like him so I hope he does well.

New England Patriots, I have so many thoughts about them. Tom Brady got off a suspension he was supposed to have for 4 games. I don't want to spread contention so I won't give any comments on that. He has come in this season and has been a star as usual. He has a great tight end in Gronkowski who has been playing above everybody's expectations. He also has some good wide receivers to work with. The Patriots (also like the Colts in years past) really doesn't have a running game so through out most of the games Brady is doing most of the work by making plays for his wide receivers downfield. The question is will the Patriots go undefeated like the 1972 Dolphins. Time will tell for them.

A lot of people think the Patriots are going back to the Superbowl, which they undoubtingly could easily go back. In my opinion I want the Superbowl be a rematch of the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos. The Packers recently didn't play well against them. The defense for the Broncos held Aaron (A-A-Ron joke) to 76 yards in passing which is incredible because Rogers has been really consistent. I really think Peyton Manning deserves another chance at the Superbowl. His last two appearances there he didn't win and I think Manning deserves at least one more Superbowl before his career his over. Look at his younger brother Eli Manning who has two of them. I am looking forward to how this season progresses. Maybe there will be some underdog teams that will defy everybody's expectations and come out top. I would love to see an upset from an underdog team.
